In effort to introduce more cultural activities to the Danada House agenda, the Nature Poetry Festival was introduced in 1993. Eight semi-finalists in each of three age divisions were chosen from the many written poems that were submitted. Winners were selected after readings which took place at Danada House. In 1995 the Festival was held as part of the Earth Day Celebration.
Today, FOD schedules regular poetry readings for the enjoyment of our community. Each reading is acccompanied by a open mic where the public is invited to participate.
